There was nothing 'dark' (black is the proper word) about the origin of that signal and the methods we used to 'refine' the signals if you understand the basic physics of EM energy. The current satellite that pinged the plane in flight is a old bird that's near end of life so maybe they are letting it move a little more than normal from a perfect orbit daily to extend the station-keeping fuel so maybe you use the slight circular movement of a geosynchronous bird to generate addition fix data if you had a very high precision measurement standard to compare its signals to. If the plane was moving you might be able to use Doppler effect hints to give an idea of speed and some direction of travel in addition to just range. The possibility of a deep IO splash was been in the cards for at least a week due to simple logical deduction of the then known facts.

It looks like my guess about the methods of path refinement were pretty close. The D2 satellite measurements are critical to the method.

'Highly confident' component from MH370


Boeing investigators are confident that debris found on a remote island in the Indian Ocean comes from a 777 aircraft, according to a source close to the investigation.

Martin Dolan, chief commissioner of the Australian Transport Safety Bureau, agreed.

"We are highly confident but it still needs confirmation that it is a part from a 777 aircraft," he told CNN's "Erin Burnett OutFront." "The only 777 aircraft that we're aware of in the Indian Ocean that could have led to this part floating is MH370. But as I said, we still need to confirm that through closer study."

The site of the debris finding (Reunion Island in the Indian Ocean) is "out in the middle of nowhere" and the only reason anyone goes there is to watch a volcano ("Piton De Fournaise") erupt.

Not surprising that something washed a shore without getting any attention until now.

I had my theories, too. However, once I heard that a wing piece floated into reunion island, then I assumed the plane was crashed violently into the ocean by a deranged pilot, small parts, seems reasonable that nothing has been found by side-scan sonar after all this time - no significantly sized pieces left. Solution found. Then Loosie says, whoa, could be a plant. Makes me laugh that skepticism still exists. I'm not saying he is wrong, I was just ready to believe my neat little theory and be content with it.

I've been there several times on a C5 Galaxy or a C141 Starlifter from Clark in PI, A fully loaded 777 could not make it without an in-air refuel (where is that nozzle?) from it's liftoff point. Even if it could the place is run by Brits with a thousand third world helpers. A 777 is a big plane to keep hidden in a hangar for 18 months as a top secret project. Somebody would look under the tarp and say WOW!

Sorry, I meant favorite in terms of absurdity. Others are more obsurd in their unlikeliness of happening but make conspiracy theories because the negative cannot be proven. The Diego Garcia option is just plain absurd because all someone has to do is go there, look and say, "hey, no plane here." It is a small place with limited in/out options so it is not like someone has a hidden runway or underground bunker to hide the plain... or do they?

As I previously mentioned in my previous post, the Piton De Fournaise volcano is located on Reunion Island and it's not surprising that another eruption is eminent.

People flock to the island to watch the volcano which can be observed as close as 1 mile from the eruption vent.

However if the eruption poses a threat at the site, the debris could be air lifted off the island and onto a small ship.

In fact, I believe it has already been removed.
