Anybody has any idea to build our Own Reverse osmosis water purifier in Bangalore?

 

Cannot help, but have to say that RO water has a great taste!

 

Have u got the money for it ?

 

It comes around 10k Rupees here in Bangalore for 15Litrs. But Not sure where to get the parts to assemble.

 

eBay has all the parts or units you would need to build one.

It's generally cheaper to buy a unit than to build it from the parts available.

So it can take saltwater and spit out freshwater? Wow I need one of these. On ebay their a lil over $100 for one that produces 85gal a day.

Do you have an adequate water supply in Bangalore to run an RO system? RO water usage efficiency is pretty bad: ..."The systems require periodic backwash to clean the filter. I don't know if you know but they produce a lot of waste water too. for the 85Gal per day you could be wasting hundreds of gallons that just go down the drain.

Also they will only produce their rated amount with a higher pressure, usually 100PSI.

Shurflo makes some decent pumps for this purpose.

My RO unit is a 7 stage, and produces water too clean to even drink, but also has a pump. It cost me just about $250 for the entire setup and $100 of which was the pump.

There are also a few other parts thaty can be purchased to enhance the functionality of an RO unit, but permeate pumps are NOT one of those things.

 

Water doesn't have to be drinkable, just desal.'ed. Since its saltwater I have an endless supply of water. I really only need about 2-5 gallons a day. So I won't need that much. My main concern is gonna be power. Which will need to be run off of solar panels and batteries.
