Yes, that link does not work for me also. The author @Robin Mitchell is on the board and may weigh in.

I can find plenty of other links for projects which work but just not the link mentioned.

The original post wasn't clear; the link that you posted a screen shot of is working fine. It's the link from that page, to the RIOT page that isn't working (http://www.riotousframework.com). As best I can tell, this seems to be the new home, or at least where a lot of useful info is posted: https://www.mitchelectronics.co.uk/riotous/

It's very confusing as RIOT-OS does have a ESP8266 porting effort that dates back to 2016.

Ok so allow me to explain the situation

Initially it was called RIOT
Someone here told me that name was taken so I changed it to RIOTOUS
Then I made the website riotousframework
Then I decided to move all my stuff onto one site...MitchElectronics

To be honest I would wait for a month or two because I am re-releasing it in a better version which does not keep connections alive and instead does everything in one message transaction (to which the connection is then closed). This also only relies on one port and reliability is far better.
