Firstly, I'd like to apologize because I know this post might raise some debates between some people, but it would be great it everyone here can help me.

I'm a hobbyist currently trying to find my first oscilloscope. I have read several posts and googled reviews. I really wanted to get Siglent SDS1104X-E, as the price should be around $100 more from SDS1104X-U, but has more features, and it is recommended very well by most fellows. However, in my country, the price for X-E series is almost twice the price of the X-U series (around $850), while the X-U price is still acceptable (around $450). So the X-E series is unfortunately out.

Another option that I can buy is the Rigol DS1054Z, which has been recommended for around 10 years. In my country, the price for DS1054Z and SDS1104X-U is exactly the same.

Between these two, which one would you pick? I didn't add any other brand like GW Instek, because the price is also out of the option.

The Siglent value series are great hobby scopes. They all would be good choices and are light-years ahead of the scopes we had years ago.

One is a 50 MHz DSO, the other 100 MHz rated, there is no 200 MHz SDS1204X-U, it doesn't exist.

SDS1104X-U is a lower cost recent development of SDS1104X-E to compete directly with 1054Z but with better specs.
