I have rgb led common cathode.
I want to make basic OFF-ON spst switch.
When the power is off i want the led to be red and when i press the switch button i want the led to change to green.
At present I connected the red pin of the led to the main positive 12v power supply and the green pin of the led to the switched positive pin but then when I press the switch i get mixed red and green led lite.
How to fix that?
I will appreciate circuit schematic.
Thanks.

Seems like a hex inverter or a small number of transistors and passives would get it done. Any particular limits on what kinds of parts you want to use or where it has to fit?
