Hey everyone, its been a VERY long time since i last posted here, but i am hoping you can help

i am trying to repair a playstation 2 video game console and the power supply needed a new fuse, i got a new fuse and put it in and hooked it up to power to test and then there was a loud pop!

i checked the fuse and it was bad and i noticed this resistor had gone bad as well or something else did to cause the burn marks i am not sure, either way it needs to be replaced

how ever i cant make out everything on it to figure out what it is, all i can see is 0.25 ohms 1wj fu something 6 m, if anyone knows of a replacement please let me know thanks

Hi Luke,
It's a 0.25 ohm wire wound resistor, wattage, at a guess 1 watt. You have a short-circuit somewhere, you need to fix first, or it will eat your replacement resistors & fuses.
Good luck...…………..

one thing i didnt do and it may have caused this issue is that i didn't screw it down so it wasn't properly grounded but also when i got this (it came in a lot of 4) the inside was covered in bug goo, here is a picture of the power supply so far i havent seen anything that is shorted or damaged, i have a multimeter and a esr meter to test with
