I am using micro SD card to log data from sensor. It logs data every 15 minutes and then goes to sleep. I am using MSP430G2553 uc from TI, using 1000 mAh battery, still battery is not lasting for a week. While the uc sleeps, micro SD card continuously consumes power. Is is possible to reduce power consumption drastically, without changing schematic. Schematic and code is attached below.

One could always power down the SD card inbetween writes.

Do be on guard for I/O lines powering the device. Tri-state them or disconnect completely.
