Rectification of Series Resonant (AC to DC)

Can the output of a 300kVAC test-set be rectified with external rectifying circuit (to 300kVDC)? Will the external rectifying circuit affect the tuning? How can I protect the components of the AC set in the event of DC short? Current limiting resistor?
