Hi

I would like to add QR code stickers to some of the devices that I will be creating.

Does anyone have any recommendations on what stickers would be good to use to identify devices?

I am thinking about using the following:

Setyl IT Assets and Devices Asset Labels - 100 Pack - Black - Heavy Duty Adhesive - Suitable for IT Devices and all Equipment | Device Labels, QR Code Labels, Inventory Labels, Barcode Labels : Amazon.co.uk: Stationery & Office Supplies

The aim is to create a simple ID for each device, and I would like to avoid any printing as i don't want to get any expensive label printers.

Why do you need an expensive label printer? Just use blank adhesive labels intended to be used with your existing printer type (ink jet or laser).

It looks like those labels are intended to be used in conjunction with their website. My guess is that the label contains a link to their database along with a unique item number. You would need to enter the details for each item that you assign a label to (you'll almost certainly need to do this one way or another). But by using their labels you lock yourself into using their site. Do they require an ongoing subscription to access their database? What happens when this small business goes out of business?

I think you are correct about their website, maybe we can avoid those labels

Maybe I could use something like

10 Sheets A4 Glossy Vinyl (PVC) White Precut Waterproof Multipurpose Label Self Adhesive Multi Sticker labels Inkjet Printable (3 x 8 (24 per Sheet)) : Amazon.co.uk: Stationery & Office Supplies

Do you have any recommendations on how I can generate a QR code?

My devices all have wifi modules, which have their QR codes etched; it would be perfect if these could be replicated, but is there software that could do this?

There's lots of software out there for creating QR codes. Just Google for QR code generator.

If you scan the QR code on your WiFi modules, you should be able to copy that into an app that can then generate the same QR code.

Remember, at the end of the day, all a QR code is is just a way to encode a string of characters in a way that enables optical recovery of it. Depending on the choice of QR code and some of the parameters, you can encode over 7000 characters of text in it, so you might have the ability to simply encode everything you want to associate with the item directly in the label so that there is no need to access any database at all.
