My Dear ROM Coppier.jpg friends, TODAY one more circuit, stand alone PROM, EPROM copier with blank check and compare facility. In this circuit I am using a 12 bit address generator IC 4040 with 74245 8 bit transceiver IC but used as uni direction only. You can use any 8 bit unidirectional control latch like eg. 74373 etc. To compare the data i am using 74688. Now you can use your concepts for increasing the address bit, getting the output lateched etc.

This circuit won't work for any PROMs. They require high voltage (around 17V) to be applied to the outputs being programmed; one at a time. They may also raise VCC to a voltage higher than 5V during programming.

Marginal for EPROMs. Doesn't conform to any programming algorithm I'm aware of, and the 12V VPP is questionable (TI/Atmel specifies 12.75-13.25V, AMD/STM 12.5-13V).
