Hello, I have a very basic knowledge in electronics, but I am trying to do the following project: I want a sensor to recognize when my oculus quest 2 is fully recharged and stop recharging it. I don't want to change the software of my Quest 2 so I thought about the following alternative:

When Quest 2 is still recharging the light is orange, when it is finally charged it turns green, I want to place a sensor near the LED of quest 2 when it is orange continue charging when it is green cut the charge and stop charging to save the battery. what is the simplest and cheapest way for this project? I thank you all in advance!

PS: if possible please answer me knowing I am a beginner so I may not understand a lot of terminology.

yes this is what Ithink it should be, but oculus says that after fully charged I need to disconnect the cable to avoid reducing battery life :/

if it’s too complicated I’ll just buy a switch with a timer, then I put it to recharge just as long as I want
