I'm looking for a programmable DC power supply (pulse generator) that can output multiple cycles, where each cycle consists of a positive pulse followed by a negative voltage pulse.

I need to be able to control both the positive and negative voltages separately, as well as the duration of each pulse, and execute them in sequence. Since my knowledge in electronics is somewhat limited, I'd prefer to purchase an off-the-shelf product rather than set up power and control circuits myself.

Max current: 40 amps
pulse duration: 10ms-500ms
Current rise time <= 1ms
Input voltage: 230

That is not a "power supply" at all. That is a high power pulse generator. that is remotely programmable. Contact Rhode and Schwrtz, it is the sort of stuff they produce and sell.
