Programable resistance

Is there such a thing as a programable resistor.

Also is there such a thing as a programable capacitor.

While your response was sicinct at in actuality answered both my questions in a brilliant fashion it would have expedited matters somewhat if you had further elaborated upon your response with an indication as to what these types of apperatus were to be referenced as. :)

Please eleviate my exacerbated curiosity with exacting indication as to the name of the apperatus in question while I lambaste myself for the obvious stupididy of asking the origional question in the manor which I have :)

They are called, surprise surprise :p, programmable resistor and programmable/trimmable capacitor.

Respective examples are ADN2850 from AD and MAX1474 from Maxim.

Odd, i searched using google for those words and got nowhere maybe I did something wrong with my search because I got pretty much everything I didn't want and lots of porn.:eek: no surely not porn on the internet!! :) Its there in a lot of cases unfortunatelty.

Thanks admin like guy for the quick response - ill have a look at both of those immediately.
