Problem with JEDAC (probably DAC chip)

Hi there,

I'm assemblying the JEDAC v2 DIY USB DAC that I found on this website : http://users.abo.fi/jskata/JEDAC/
After some soldering problems, I finally managed to connect the board to the computer and it is recognized by the PC as an audio DAC device just fine. However no audio comes from the outputs. I tried to probe the various components and I found the following results (keep in mind that I don't have an oscilloscope):
- PCM2707 works ok I think (I don't know of a way to read I2S without an oscilloscope, is there a possibility?)
- All the power supplies work fine and the supply voltages on every chip are as expected
- PCM1794 seems to be the problem as no signal is coming out of IOUTR+/IOUTR- and IOUTL-/IOUTL+
- As a consequence the OPA2134 is not doing anything at all.
Do you know some simple but more problem-specific measurement that I can make? What could be the problem in this case? An error in the I2S signal elaboration or a problem in the PCM1794 chip?
The soldering problems involved shorting VCC2L and AGND3L on the PCM1794 DAC chip and powering the board up, however I fixed the soldering but the chip does not seem to work, could this be the reason?

Thanks in advance,
Cosma
