Hello my friends.

I am looking at 2 antennas and comparing them.

One data sheet says " Power withstanding = 10 W "
Second data sheet says " Power = 50 Watts Input "

Can u please tell me the difference between Power withstanding and input Power?

I am thinking they are the same thing and the English is confusing in the datasheets.

 

I assume poor translation of the original language.

Withstanding: remain undamaged or unaffected by; resist.

Without context from the data-sheets the technical meaning of the terms in X set of conditions (at some standing wave ratio, a max power with a perfect match, etc ....) is hard to define precisely.

 

Generally, if You think You need 10-watts of Power,
what You really need is a better Antenna design.

In the old days power levels depended on how hard the Russians were jamming that day. Some days 10W was fine, other days 10KW was needed.
