Hello Everybody !

I am developing a variable power supply which could deliver 1.25 to 125V dc using TL78c voltage regulator.

I need to filter out the ripple after rectification, So pls help me to design the filtering part.

I had done some numerical calculation and finally I decided to put 2200uF, 180V capacitor. Will it be sufficient or should I Increase capacitance ?

My load current is 700mA.

One would have no idea if the cap is sufficient as you have not posted any sort of schematic to define just how this cap would be used.

But I would guess that cap gives you on the order of 3.2V of ripple.

I would not guess about the voltage rating.

Also, in what part of "Embedded Systems and Microcontrollers" does power supply design reside?
