hi all,

i have a question about an analog multiplier IC

http://www.analog.com/static/imported-files/data_sheets/AD835.pdf

it has two input signals and one output, am using this IC as a modulator
according to the datasheet it has an internal power dissipation equal to 300mW, the question is this power dissipation will be dissipated from the sum or the multiplication of the powers of the input signals.. i want to calculate the output power thats why am asking...any help would be appreciated

No the power dissipation won't be the sum or the multiplication of the powers of the input signals.

It will probably be relatively constant for a given power supply voltage. The maximum dissipation would possibly occur with the maximum output signal swing case.
