Doh! I make this boiler plates, then forget about them...

How to upload an attachment.

To attach a document or picture to a post

Click "Go Advanced" at the bottom of your post,

One of several options will pop up,

Click "Manage Attachments" much further at the bottom of your post,

To upload a file from your computer click "Browse", then select the file.

Schematics should be .gif or .png format, pictures should be .jpg. .jpg formats will fuzz out schematics, and should not be used for that purpose.

Don't feel bad, I went through the same process when I first joined in 2008. It comes automatic now.

Thanks Bill....tit worked...that was clear and concise...glad you found those instuctions....
BTW...
I go to manage attachments....click
I go to Browse....click
I go to my documents and select the image....click
I click "open" which inserts the image in the attachment field next to the word Browse
I then go to upload.....click
THEN below the "file" insertion box....there appears verbage that shows my attachment is accepted
BUT ..when I "go Back"....to my post ....so that maybe I can comment further....the image is not there.....
When I then "get out" of everything and reenter the forum....
There it is....correctly on my post.....
Wait a minute.....
Maybe THAT'S when I can comment....and then send the post on its way....
Let me try this again and insert a comment after the image.....
Stand By......

When I click to upload the image that I have saved...It doesnt appear in the post at that time.....it does show up in the running thread

Don't use the "Go back one page (Backspace)" button on browsers, if that's what you're doing. Things can get very messy if you don't know what you are doing.

You can say that again.....
but dont....
I cant seem to be able to add additional comments after I upload the image.....
Maybe that's not possible....?????
Is it.....?
or is the last thing to go on the page the image....
I seem to remember posts that had additional verbage after an image....

It seems that you have successfully attached the image to the bottom of your post.

Now that you have done that, you can try this as well.
Before hitting the "Submit Reply" button, hit the "Preview Post" button. You will see the post with the attachment at the end of it.
Open the attachment in a new window.
Copy the URL address of the attachment.
Go back to the post editor and insert and hit the Insert Image button.
Paste the attachment URL in the field.
Submit the thread.

In this way, you can have the full resolution image in your post, placed exactly where you want it in the text.

If you just attach a file (image or whatever) using the Attachment manager, it goes at the bottom of the post, in a dedicated box. This is normal and expected. It is not part of the body of the text.

If you want to place the image in your post text, then do what I say above.

I edited your post #30 to give you a show and tell.

Once you have attached an image, click on the thumbnail. This will open a new browser window with the image. Copy the url address.

Then go back to the first post, insert it between the img commands.
