Possible induction coil

Its a ferrite core inductor. Often used in filters and small switch-mode power supplies. The inductance is often marked in nanohenries (nH) using a code similar to resistors: 473 = 47 microhenries (uH) FOUR, SEVEN, 3 ZEROS.

But not always. Sometimes just a manufacturers part number that doesn't mean anything!

Do adjustable inductors follow the same code? eg. 100=10*10^0 uh I just realized that I have pulled a surprising amount off of old boards and am quite excited (I never have the right sized inductors, so adjustable ones should be useful)
