nw i'm askin' u all to help me in a Q says :

(a) Assume an electronically controlled kitchen appliance “microwave oven” , as a background for this question and answer the following,

(Note: the microwave oven is fitted with a microcontroller)


1. How the input is given to device? Explain the various input buttons? (2 marks)

2. What is the output device used? What output is shown on the output device? (5 marks)
3. Draw a flow chart explaining the operation of the above mention device? (10 marks)

till nw i'm like these but when i saw these fourm i said 4 sure i'll find some one to help

Well, have a look at your microwave. Have you got one?

Input devices:-
Buttons (0-9, ON, OFF....)
Switch contact - Door

Output devices:-
LED display of time and function.
Other warning LEDs
"Finished" bell.
Relay to control the magnatron power.

Flowchart:-
How do you program the cooking time?
What happens if you open the door while it is on?
What sound does it make when the cooking is finished?

Think about all the events from the time you have the food ready to place into the microwave till the end process.

Then review your flowchart and modify as needed.

Let me help u a bit.
Q1. Input is given in two ways.
a) Is Power input from the Main Incoming Supply
b) User input, setting the function program

Q2. Output device is called a Magnetron.
I have attached a diagram to show you the Magnetron Symbol, take a look.
From it U can complete ur answer.

Q3. This question is a problem, I donno to which it is referring to.
If it the magnetron, then diagram I have attached will help u.
If it is the micro controller, then a flow chart will consist of how the controller should behave. It should always check for safety switches first. If a safety switch is activated the uC should switch off the unit.
Secondly the uC should work in accordance with user input program and once completed it will shut down automatically.

I hope this helps.

and about Q3 they asked us to drow flow chart talks about what ever happends in the maicrowave oven

so we will mix it together to drow the whole procees

and thats why i'm asking , coz i dunno if these is enaugh to satisfy my dr and expline each process in it .

there is no warning bell on ovens, instead it just shuts down the operation when the door is open and resumes when closed.
There is program end beep though
