I've known that for a long time. And your not sharing.

 

I received one of those many years ago, when I refused, the caller who had an Indian accent, said "f you!" and then hung up. lol I pissed him off. but I was also pissed because of that, I called my phone company to see if they can see the caller id, because it was all 0. too bad I didn't know about NSA, they could've helped. lol

 

Some "company" called one of my friends a while ago, at the time she was 15 years old. She did not know much about computers. They started the conversation with "I see you are having problems with your computer". And of course, who hasn't? (especially if there is no techie in the house) so she replied "Yes", of course... long story short... they almost convinced her that she has viruses on her computer. They made her download an app where they could see and control the computer, and they showed her the windows event viewer, and they said that every red icon (the errors) there is a virus. They convinced her to buy an antivirus app with a price tag of almost $200. But because she was 15 years old, with no credit card, etc. she was not able to pay them, so she said she will call them back when her parents get home.
Finally she called me, and tried to explain to me, but it was too hard over the phone to figure out what is going on, so I went to her place, and she showed me the event viewer "viruses", and finally I understood what is going on. I googled their phone number and their fake "company", and saw that many people got fooled by this.
Of course, she is not fooled by something like this anymore.

 

No scam ,I have a glass cased radio from the 30's in my stuff , if I can find

a Fla member that has a need for more stuff. Case ,4 tubes and circuit board,

no speaker.

And why is that?

That reminds me of the punch line of some old joke about "Throwing old peoples' underwear at a wall, and they stick," kind of funny when you visualize it.
Maybe something from "Family Guy", which I find hilarious and sick at the same time.
