OK, I know that things like plasma speakers and tesla coils usually arent driven with uc's because of the massive amounts of interference, but if you were to shield the arduino and have a separate plasma speaker within a about a foot, how bad would the interference be? Would every exposed wire act like an antenna and pick up interference, or is it the internals of the chip that must be protected?

The one i built was so noisy my stereo 12 feet away was picking it up.

I don't know if it was due to everything being unshielded or the fact the stereo does indeed have a AM loop antenna hanging on the wall.

Think i would be sweating cheapskate bullets plugging in a 40$ component into that static factory.
