Hi
Have my carport that need to be autolight up.

As now i have a standard sensor from local shop that works on 230v.
but it's very unstable due to cheap model.
The area it's covering is very unprecise.
I need a very stable one that only turn on when someone/car is in the area.

Wife has clothes to dry also, need to see even is the car is not home.

Area is 3 ×4.5 m.

Open at one side and one end.
Sensor is right now placed at the corner where both sides is open.

Should we use 1 or more sensor or ?
And final, where to place the sensor?

You should edit/clean up the first post to describe what you want and fix the typing errors. Nobody knows for sure what you mean with the laundry comment - will the system dry laundry or does she want to go out in the dark to pull her dry laundry off the clothes line?

I say that because some members will focus on your stray comments rather than your problem. I'll delete this post once you've edited your first post.

Hi.

If I remember right, you're in Denmark*. And in Denmark you have the shop Biltema. (This is a Scandinavian retail store.) Have you considered this motion activated light:
http://www.biltema.no/no/Sok/?query=bevegelse

* Some time ago you worked on a rainsensor or something with an LCD. I noticed some of the menu options or comments in the code were Danish. Correct me if I'm wrong.

The PIR sensors work when something warmer than the background passes from left to right across the sensed firld of view. The prism-like lens (fly eye lens) makes several fields in a sensor array. The segments in the array are capacitively coupled so a very slow moving object doesn't cause a noticable change and an object not emitting enough heat vs background will not trigger the sensor. Also, objects moving straight to the sensor from a far distance doesn't alwaysTrigger because of the way the segments and prism are arranged.

In a cold area like Denmark, the car may not be warm enough to set it off if it was out for a short trip. Also, white clothing, especially multiple layers of clothing can attenuate body heat so much that the sensor will no see it.

I would use two lamps, or, check if you can find one that is voice activated as a second turn-on method.
