PIR Sensor Dims LEDs. Why?

Hi all,

I have no knowledge of electricity or circuitry, but know just enough to get me into trouble ;). This time it's with a PIR sensor (https://www.amazon.com/LEDENET®-Sensor-Function-Control-Cotroller/dp/B00HJ6ZZBM) I connected inline to those IKEA closet light (https://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/60332290/). The reason I am doing it is to trigger the LED in a specific situation (too long to explain, but it shouldn't matter).

Anyways, the IKEA LED is powered by the usual IKEA driver (https://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/60342661/). There are 2 more IKEA LEDs connected to the same driver (in parallel, I guess). After I connected the PIR sensor inline with one of the LEDs, motion sensing works with that LED as expected, but I notice all the lights are now dimmer than before (when they are turned on). Is this normal? Anything I can do to fix this?

Thanks in advance for your input.

The PIR itself will need some power so presumably it is 'stealing' this power from the LEDs.
You may need to provide a separate PSU for the PIR and then work out which wire the PIR switches.

Another idea...if you are using an analog dimming input maybe the output of the PIR sensor does not go high enough (or low enough) to turn the LEDs on fully.

Can you check the specifications for the two assemblies?
