I know this is a photograph thread and not a photography equipment thread but this doesn't deserve its own thread and I hope you'll pardon the brief departure from topic.

I just picked these up at a garage sale. All Bogen/Manfrotto:
3040 tripod with 3063 head
3033 tripod with 3063 head
3021 tripod with 3063 head
3221 tripod with 3047 head
679B monopod
3x tripod dolly

Paid $60 for all of it.

I don't see the conflict here. Posting information about photographic equipment is perfectly within topic. At least from my perspective.

Thanks for sharing.

Went for a walk this morning in the fog.

Strange thing, not sure how this happened but I suspect the fog was moving imperceptibly slowly perpendicularly to the road, and as there is a barely discernable crown in the road, moisture settled only on the windward side and passed over the leeward side.

IMG_4317.JPGI borrowed a lens from a friend and realise now why my photos weren't quite as good as they could be. I'm using the lens that came with the camera 10 years ago for no better reason than it is light (now worth £26, judging by those for sale on Ebay) and its autofocus is shot. Any recommendations for Canon EOS (Rebel) lenses gratefully received!

My wife made a trip to Saltillo a few days ago and came back with these pictures. Saltillo was the most important city in northern Mexico from the 1,500 hundreds up until mid 20th century. Now it's Monterrey. But Saltillo is still very important, both industrially and historically.

I thought I lost the shot while trying to get to the next exit on the highway in time, but after a couple miles of back road driving it came back... I didn't have the time to try to adjust focus and what not as even the back roads are busy at that hour.

@nsaspook It's almost like certain features disappear at night... you can see a bit more of the lower section of the ferris wheel, and whatever circular thing is to the right looks almost like it bounced away.

Awesome view!
