Sorry. I guess I've just never understood why one would wish to pay handsomely for the shackles Microsoft forces one to wear.

One of my few shortcomings.
Yeah, I hate Microsoft as much as the next guy... but learning a completely new OS at this point for me would take too much valuable time. And besides, none of my customers use Linux...

But I get what you're saying. Microsoft made suckers of all of us, and we keep playing the price of own complacency.

Good news is, your monitor has a fixed resolution so in the context of this thread Windows or Linux matters not. But what does matter is all the crap on your desktop...

I can't stand more than 10 icons on my desktop. Which is totally incongruous with my policy regarding my actual physical desktop, which is a rat's nest of wires, cables, papers, components, and some unidentified biological entities probably known to the state of California to cause cancer.

Yeah, I agree... I can't stand a messy desktop either... but in my defense, the icons on the right were supposed to be temporary like, two years ago :D... but I do make use of ALL the icons on the left... I need two monitors ... *sigh*

A shot on the river a few days ago at dawn with my new Canon EOS R mirrorless camera and the RF 24-70mm /2.8L lens.

So far, I am really liking this new system. A "pro" body is due in February, it will be very interesting to see what Canon comes up with.
