I have aproject in my mind ... DSC controller for my telescope mount. I want This as a DIY fun project, to get my hands wet with microcontrollers. I haven't used microcontrollers before and have been looking into a PIC board or Arduino. There are a dizzying array of options out there. I'm looking for something basic, with a quick learning curve.

Any suggestions on a basic Arduino board, with prototyping ability?
Any other PIC options that would be good?

Thx,
Rob

Arduino or Picaxe for short shallow learning curve. PIC for a bit steeper, but more powerfull Uc's I do all three, based on what the project needs and how lazy I am currently feeling about writing new code. Arduino is a great entry level chip that will get you up and going pretty quick and has a ton of code clips available, Picaxe is about the same with less code clips, PIC is huge, but there are a great many options for different languages and IDE's
Hope this helps you decide.
