Antique German Desk... 200 yrs. old, built with no electricity or power tools! Unbelievable ingenuity!

Built by Wilhelm Conrad Röntgen German physicist detector of electromagnetic radiation in a wavelength range known as X-rays or Röntgen rays, and earned him the first Nobel Prize in Physics in 1901.

I'd be curious to see the techniques that were used. Not that I want to take the time to learn them, but I love watching skilled craftsmen. Check out the glass-blower videos you can find online. It's hypnotizing.

That is amazing? I wonder why he chose to move the paper as opposed to the arm? Alignment issues maybe?

I wonder if there were any automated machines used in printing back then?
