Hello, I have a problem with a phone's loudspeaker connector. I have soldered before, but not on components this tiny. The connector is torn of and still connected to the flex cable. What would be the best approach to fixing it, could soldering the connector to the four guide points around where the pins are supposed to be work?

Hi..How about you get a new one?

No experience but have fixed my phone before so looks a bit familiar..Isn't that connector with flex cable something you will "snap" to the pins on the board?

If buy new one then it's cheap on Aliexpress if you have virtue patience.

btw, welcome to AAC

Thanks, but the problem is the pins on the board itself with the whole connector are torn. Changing the board would fix this, but I'd rather not as the board is worth more than the rest of the phone.

Now I'm no expert and trying to learn things myself but isn't this a case for heat soldering.

If I'm stepping outta bounds please let one of the other more seasoned people here help and I'll step out of the way. I am practicing soldering myself before I start putting my project together but my components aren't that small. One big gob and now you've just connected a leg/component that shouldn't be.
This would equal KABOOM.

I believe that heat soldering may not work as there is a plastic bracket holding the pins

My next question would be can the bracket be removed but I'm sure you've already thought of that.
And sorry for not quoting your name, I'm assuming that's Russian and my keyboard is not set up for it.... It don't do backwards letters.
And welcome to the forum! Someone will come along hopefully and give you the answer you need.

I believe I could, but then there's nothing holding the pins in place

For me, the picture is out of focus and hard to see what you’re talking about.

Is it possible to get a better picture, edited to show just the problem area and the surrounding components and traces? Also, can you circle or point to the problem area?

That would help immensely!

Sorry for keeping you waiting, but its finals season here and i just had my last exam this semester.
This is how they look, i've attached an image of a working board aswell as the damaged one

Здрасти Оги :)

On the picture from first topic i cannot see where exactly is this connector. if i have understood right you have broken connector on the mainboard. What Huawei is this?

If you are from Sofia i can give the board to the guy i sometimes give thing i cannot do and he can fix it.

Здравей,
Its I p9 lite, vns-l21, the broken connector is the one that bridges the sub board responsible for the loudspeaker, charging and vibration motor, and yes, I'm in Sofia
