Hello Guys,
i have a problem with understanding the function of PST in a System with 2 transmission lines in parallel connected to a Grid.
So now the PST has a rated Power of 100MVA. The Question is, how is the max transmittable power of the line with the PST, affected by the presence of the PST. Is it increased/decreased or unchanged ?
The same for the entire network: how is the max transmittable power of the entire network, affected by the presence of the PST. Is it increased/decreased or unchanged ?
So for my understanding, in the upper line with the PST the Power is increasing because ill have a Circulating Power Sc from the PST and that is S1+Sc.
In the lower line it would be S2-Sc.
The Answer for the entire network would be unchanged cause the Power is in the end the same.
I dont know if im missing something, like the given Power of the PST with 100MVA, its confuse me. I dont know if i have to consider that or why is this Number given especially for the PST.
