What is the magnitude of the phase angle of a 24 Vac parallel RL circuit when R = 45
and XL = 1100
?

I guess you want the phase relationship between the applied voltage and the current drawn by the parallel load. Work out the equivalent parallel complex impedance which (in the polar form) will have an angle component. The current phase will lag the applied voltage phase by the aforementioned impedance angle.

If we are talking pure inductance, which doesnt really exsist then the current would lag the voltage by 90 degs, if its a real coil with resistance, then use Tan-1 of xl/r, so whatever xl divided r equlas, take the inverse tan of that number to give you the phase angle, this is will tell you how many degrees the current lags the voltage by. Hope I helped.
