# Parallel circuit question

If I have the resistance value of R1 and R3 but not the resistance value of R2 and the voltage is unknown how do I find RT and ET. The equation does show 2 amps across R2.

R2 = V2 / I2, I2 = 2 Amps.

We have no idea until you show a circuit diagram.
We do not put current across a resistor.
You can have voltage across a resistor and current flowing through a resistor.

Use Ohm's Law.

I = V / R
V = I x R
R = V / I

You need two of the three values in order to determine the unknown value.
