I had been using a new york server and not connecting to certain sites. Just now switched to chicago.....still no connection.

Here (Southeast PA, Verizon FIOS) I've been suffering intermittent service since Saturday, with outages lasting from seconds to several minutes and uptime periods to match. Sometimes DNS fails, other times websites fail to respond, and occasionally Chrome reports "no internet connection."

Bleh.

That is why I have two different DNS servers set in my router.
One address is the one given by my provider, the other is one from OpenDNS:
https://www.opendns.com/
So when one fails, there is a backup.

This outage did effect me. My EFT transfer from Amazon payments to my local credit union that normally is done by noon PST took until 2pm local. Fortunately the credit union picked it up and it was ready this morning although a little later than usual.

Awaiting the usual slam from "you know who " who seems always ready to look up my location and slap in a shot.

If I read the headline and look at the photo, my first impression is that the article somehow describes Amazon using drones to reach "the cloud".

 

I can't get into my hotmail account.......outlook I believe they call it now.

If you have the ipaddress of your must visit sites you can bypass the DNS servers.

 

I use thunderbird.......and it lost connection.......went to website......can't even get to login page.
