There are a few very handy sized pocket 'scopes on AliExpress from $20-$30 and up. If looking, the FNIRSI range are worth it', Single channel.
If dual channel is needed, the FNIRSI 1013D is worth it.

There are many threads here that have scope shots of I2C, SPI, and the like. Use the site’s search function and scan the threads. Many are well annotated like this one:

Not sure if a scope is the best tool for that. There are logic analyzers under $10 that can be found in AliExpress that work perfectly for this purpose.
