op amp supply voltage

well I am trying to understand the concept

online classes for electrical theory arent really the greatest. i have no actual demonstration of these problems. i pretty much have to do everything on my own

It can sort out the student who is thinking, and understands the concept, vs one who just looks at the datasheet and parrots the answer.
Or it can sort out the student who gets someone else to answer the HOMEWORK question for them.

Yeah, I realize I let the cat out of the bag, but one person (not you) had already essentially given our OP the answer - the wrong answer - by referring him to the datasheet, and I believe implying that it was a standard connection. I felt like he was sorta being led down the garden path. Perhaps I should have made my point without providing a specific answer.

I'm switching between a datasheet and the circuit on this page now and looking at the capacitor connected to pins 3 and 5 of the chip I believe there is a misdrawn component on this circuit. Specifically the cap is backwards.
Well, I may be invisible and ignored, but I rarely miss a backwards cap. :eek:

im still trying to figure out which way the current flows here. does it flow upwards to V- after the last arrow?

When the switches are in the non-charging position, they become a source voltage for the op-amp.

Keep track of the polarity of the charge put on the capacitors in the charging position, then add up the values to find what value and polarity the voltage provided will be.

I am not sure if this is a trick question or a typo myself. Best rule is to go off of what is written on the page in front of you instead of some source that won't be grading the paper. ;)
