It just seems weird to me that the side that claims to be all about "freedom" is the one taking or wanting to from those that don't think like them. Got one person that I've seen or heard about is trying to make "them" go or do the things their railing about, that leads back to the real meaning of freedom.

Also, the side that used to call people "snowflakes" now seems to be afraid of everything. Like universities turning the minds of their children into something negative. Well, I guess it can be negative if the university opens the student's eyes to realities that are alternatives to what their parent was brainwashed into believing - somehow inverting signals.

Speaking of snowflake... Those snowflake-calling politicians seem scared to death (intimidated?) about an animated Green M&M getting redrawn to edit the shoes - replacing heels with sneakers. Unbelievable.

I like to think that I have much more important things to concern me and occupy my time than most of the crap I see on the news or social media. After all, it's already happened and there's nothing I can do about it after the fact and why should I waste my time and effort bemoaning it after it's already happened... The sun still rises in the east and sets in the west and I still have the same bills to pay and family to care for. The only one I can really do anything about is myself if I feel so moved to do so and most times I don't.

Yes, "personal freedoms" is the rallying cry for one party until people actually take personal freedoms, then a law has to be made, someone needs to be criticized or jail time has to be threatened.

Police: Man shoots friend in arm, says he thought gun was unloaded

The victim told police that Medina has pointed an unloaded gun at him about 10 times before. He said it has always been a joke and he did not want to prosecute.

When police questioned Medina, the story lined up and he said he not know the gun was loaded.

Medina was arrested and charged with culpable negligence that inflicted harm.

That sounds like a reasonable charge -- since criminal stupidity isn't on the books in very many places.

Before I was eight my dad made sure that I understood the two basic rules of firearm safety -- always assume any weapon is loaded until you personally verify that it isn't, and never, ever, point any gun, loaded or not, at anything you aren't willing to kill or destroy. If people would just flip a coin and pick one of those rules to follow, accidental firearms injuries and deaths would be virtually non-existent.

But the same could be said for many other things, be it drunk driving, or distracted driving, or small airplane crashes, or fill-in-the-blank. Simple, easy, well-known preventative steps would drastically reduce the incident rate.

Agreed. The person that pulled the gun might be criminally stupid, but the friend is pretty obviously terminally stupid.

I wonder which one of them asks the other to hold their beer (probably they just exchange bottles).
the fact that there are no requirements to own a gun, or even to conceal or open carry in many states, is good viewing/reading entertainment for some people - it seems to make some people feel so smart and superior (even attempt to be comedic). Good work.

Fort Myers man arrested after disrespectfully consuming key lime pie

That’s why one Fort Myers man went out of his way to obtain his favorite post-dinner treat for his mother’s birthday. He took the custard creation and secured it in his refrigerator, which would remain until the big day.

He even warned another person in the residence, David Powelson, to please leave his mother’s edible present unsullied in the ice box.

But Powelson, drawn to the dessert reminiscent of a cartoon character, was losing all control to a pie in waiting.

The protection of one's Key Lime Pie is the purpose of concealed carry in Florida.

And no duty to retreat!

But I always retreat myself if the pie is good enough.
If that's the purpose of concealed carry in Florida, what is the reason for your governor is pushing for Open Carry in Florida?
