Wouldn't he have been more comfortable at Fisherman's Wharf?
Why would a wharf be better than a shack. Shacks have been used for that bodily function for a thousand years. I was just at Fisherman's Wharf. No floor-dedicating Florida Men-types there. Fisherman's Wharf in SFO provide public restrooms -they're clean and well staffed. More rooms available at the ground floor of the chocolate factory as well.

Just don't park your car on the street or stay outside in the area once it's dark. It's sad the dung hole the place is today. We stayed at the Wharf last summer, it changed a bit since I was there in the 70's.

Another issue for residents is, surprisingly, human feces on the street. The city has since set up a “poop patrol” to combat this potential health hazard. As a tourist to San Francisco, this and the homelessness epidemic could be a shock – especially if you are not from a major city.

It has changed since the 1970's. It looked like a big dump on episodes of "Streets of San Francisco" and "Bullitt" compared to what I saw last month. You should watch a few episodes. Honestly, they did a pretty good job representing the city in that time - I was there in 1974 and 1977 for extended stays. The hookers, pimps, drug dealers were way worse than the homeless we see today. The Wharf is a nice tourist area and much different than the incarnation of the 1970s.

During the mid and late 70s I got up to San Francisco quite a bit, also the Oakland area. Always enjoyed dinners on the wharf. Like any major city at home or abroad there are places you go and places you don't go. It was true then and true today.

Arrested? He should be taken out and beat to within an inch of his life. What kind of a sick individual beats on a 9 year old girl like that? A student? Apparently not a very bright student.

I'll be glad to send my girl, with one hand tied behind her back, to beat some intelligence into that criminal.

The sad part is those just standing around before it looks like anyone came to the girl's defense. Another sad part is we don't need to go to Florida to see this sort of behavior.
