Don't get drunk in South Africa.....and don’t fall asleep outside!!!

They tell you that booze is cheap in South Africa but they do not tell you the consequences
!

It took 8 men to load this python on to the truck. It swallowed a man after it found him drunk and sleeping next to the N2 road in Mkhuze, KZN, South Africa on Saturday. Had it not been spotted, the python would have remained on the same spot for up to 8 months while it digested every piece of the man's body, including skull and every bone in his body.

So would the snake get a 8 month alcohol buzz off of digesting the guy?
HP kind of answered this in a PM we did some time ago. Alcohol is a lot more mobile than a protein, so the alcohol would dissipate into the snake and be metabolized a long time before the meal was finished digesting. Short buzz, long burp.:D

Dang, those pythons have a huge appetite and this one must have been really hungry.

However, it could have found something a bit more appetizing than a drunk. o_O

Eating any animal in one whole swallow (especially a drunk human) doesn't seem very appetizing.

However, I'm not a snake and what the Hell do I know about the life and eating habits of a vertebrate.

Several years ago, some idiot was keeping a python as a pet in his New York apartment.

The guy didn't pay his rent for over a month and didn't respond to phone calls or certified mail. So the landlord finally went in the apartment and found he had been strangled and the dead snake was still wrapped around his neck.

A police investigation was launched to determine if the snake actually strangled him to begin with -or if the snake was already dead and someone else used it to strangle him. :p

He must have been really hammered to sleep through that process......

Yeah, he must have been really hammered because a sober human would have the common sense to not step in a coiled python in the first place.

If he stepped in quicksand and drowned, I'm willing to give him a pass. But knowingly getting tangled in a huge snake is just plain stupidity. :p

I don't think he stepped at all because he was asleep.
Apparently, a python is capable of moving toward the human by itself.
