I have this old McKay truck steering column fan (or possibly dash defroster). Have little info on it but used a 12 volt wall wort with aligator clips on it to see if she spun. Nothing. Not knowing that much about electronics not sure if its dead or just not enough volts to power it.

Any basic info to get me started appreciated.

Way to test?
Should I clean this interior or leave it be?
Guestimate on how it would have been powered on an older car/truck?

Many thanks!

Could it have been made to run on the alternator output?
Although, I thought the "old" cars and trucks used generators.
What year model is this vehicle of yours anyway?

Thanks for all the replies. No, not sure about anything on this - as you can tell. I do not know what type vehicle it came off of. It may be an after marker part people added pre AC and Defroster.

Since we now know its 110 (thanks!) what are my options to power it?

Sure it is not used the same way as interior car warmer/heater and plugged into the AC 120v service when parked?
Max.
