On many of the forums I belong, there is almost always an outlandish thread published on April 01 each year.
Heck even Popular Electronics magazine had a column. One topic that I recall was whether automotive subwoofers should be pointing backwards or upwards, to provide better thrust or better traction.

The April Fools thread this year was no April Fools thread.

 

What? There was an April Fools thread. I understand it was by invitation only.

 

Maybe after 442 years the joke has worn out its welcome.

I had much the same feeling when I first saw that but there must be some level of credibility even for a April Fools joke.

 

The funniest thread was in an history forum. A member started a thread asking what was the Space Alien’s contribution to design and build Egypt’s Great Pyramids. And he posted it on April first!
The moderators immediately moved the thread to “The Lounge” forum. Everyone, myself included, started making wise-ass replies.
What was hilarious was that the thread starter became quite upset because he was actually posting a serious question!!
