I hadn't seen that before - congrats WBahn!

Perhaps this is since Georacer hasn't been active for a little while... Though he seems to have checked in recently.

The administrator(s) of most forums can establish whatever procedures they want to decide who the forum staff is. I believe that the most common means is for the existing staff to decide who to invite to join the staff. The criteria used varies all over the place and can be very formal or informal (usually the latter). I'm too new on the staff to really know the ins and outs of the process -- I'll have a better feel after the next mod comes on board. :D

Ayep. We discuss a lot where you guys can't see it, it improves the quality.

Generally 4 seems to be a good number, I suspect Geo will be back, so it could be a long while.

At which point the discussion will be if five is too many and whether the new guy gets the boot. :D :D

Naw, Spammers alone will see to that. Just keep doing what you already have been and a little extra.

The biggest headache is the occasional troll. Some of them can be subtle.

Hey gals and guys. It has been just over one year since I became a moderator on All About Circuits.

This has got to be the best website of its kind on the whole web, if I may say so.
And this is so because you, the members, have been a great bunch. AAC could not have become what it is without you, the active and helpful participants.
It has been an honor and privilege to be a mod here, as well as it being very enjoyable and rewarding.

WBahn brings to AAC an extensive and respected knowledge in this field and has already been a great asset to AAC.
I am sure that you will show him the same respect that you given me. Wish him well as our newest moderator on AAC.

WBahn was a good choice for moderator. I noticed it earlier (late night Saturday ... wee hours Sunday) and was pleasantly surprised.

Four to five moderators inherently felt like a good team to me, as that was the team size I formed in another forum.

Congrats to WBahn.

Even with a team of moderators, the members still report posts so the moderators can do the moderate tasks. WBahn, like all the moderators, has this members support.

So...what's the official AAC website policy on saying things like, "You can trust the freezing and boiling points of water because they were declared the standard for the Centigrade Scale several times from 1744 to 1990" or, "You can bet mercury weighs the same as it did in 1881 when it was declared the standard for barometers", (and I was not on those committees).
