Need to select AC high current (upto 1000A)capable high side switch/driver for 230v AC transmission line. can anyone suggest any switch type component or part no?

What is a high side switch for AC?

 

I do not see a way using solid state like TRIAC.
I have used 1000A MOSFETs and IGBTs in DC circuits.

I’ve not seen triacs that large, but you could use two back-to-back thyristors. Thyristors are available in currents up to thousands of amps.
However, bear in mind there is a drop of 1Volt, which would require that you dissipate 1000W on a heatsink.

 

I second Ian's suggestion. Thyristors (SCR) are the way to go if you don't want to employ a contactor.

A Powerex C430M is 600V, 1070A RMS. For AC switching you will require two of each per phase.

There are larger, much larger devices.......if you want more.

 

What sort of application? A transmission line itself does not draw much current. And the type of load will influence the type of switch quite a bit. Also, how frequently and how rapidly the switching is required will matter.
