when the board is powered up does it ramp upto speed and ramp down, or just spins then stops. What voltage is on pin 11 when you adjust the speed control min to max.

When powered up, it ramps up to speed very quickly and then it shuts down with power still applied. It does not try to restart. If I shut the switch off and back on again, it will start back up. Potentiometer does not seem to have any affect on the speed. Hard to tell because it does not run long enough. Voltage on pin 11 found in table I provided page or two ago.

Pin 16 is the speed reference voltage ,and goes to the speed pot via preset, your diagram doesn't connect the speed pot to pin 16, again what is the voltage on pin 11 at min and max speed setting.

Isn't tht Red Red brown ( not Orange )?
I never came across a resistor going bad and showing low value.
It's worth giving a try to put back the bad one (resistor) and see what happens.

All the time and your point would be what? Now you've got your 2 cents in, move along! When one joins a forum as a new member, best to keep smart ass comments to yourself until you know the members.

I replaced the resistor with the one that was in it. If it is red, red, brown, that's still 220 ohms. Measured 90 ohms all day long. Anyways made no difference. Same result.
As for pin 11, voltage starts at -7.2 VDC and works it's way down to about 2.3 VDC and then shuts off. Those numbers may be +/-10%. It doesn't matter where I set the speed control.
As far as being easy, I'm as easy as they come. I just think newbs should earn respect before struttin their stuff. :)

I dunno why I am asking this but can you place a 220VAC around 100W filament bulb instead of the motor and see the result.

You can ask but I don't have access to 220V and not sure where you are going with this. I think I am going to take a break from this one for a bit. Thanks for all your help for now, I will let you know if I go back at it. TTYS

Just connect the bulb instead of the motor and check how the light operates.
Does it come on and go off or you can control the dimming via speed control.

Set the speed to maximum, switch it on and when the motor or bulb operates, does pin 11 voltage remain constant,or does it decrease as it stops/dims.
