Nothing to do with resistor values, but this looks like a mistake
When I see a layout picture, like you posted, my brain tries to convert it to a schematic in my head. It's much easier for me to understand and check the overall circuit from a schematic. I suspect that is also the case for most people who will try to help.

 

I sometimes wonder whether the modern generation has discovered a new innovative way of assembling electronic devices from a physical layout rather than a schematic.

I'll do that way.

 

The difference is between a schematic diagram that shows the circuit function versus a wiring diagram that shows the wires between the components. One shows how the circuit works while the other may show how it is assembled. Quite different.
