For my project I need to do something like bypass.

I've seen a lot of schematics with J112 and with diode (mostly 4148) connected to the gate. What is the purpose of this diode??

Also, is it possible to replace this P-channel JFET with general purpose MOSFET? This is because J112 are hard to find and are expensive...

Well 0.51 is out of my league price. I target something like 0.1 or less.

 

If I was to design sound system not in the high end range. And at the same a cheapskate, I would have used the CD4066B as switch. One package contains 4 switches
