I am trying to design a wireless receiver with a pin diode in multisim. My question is how do i insert the light source that gets detected by pin diode.

I asume you are trying to use the pin diode as an RF switch. I don't think you can simulate a light source but you can insert a voltage source to activate it.

This is my preliminary circuit (ignore values)
Now how do i add/adjust voltage supply to activate the pin diode(since there is no light source).

 

I think you are going to have to increase the frequency.
The PIN diode has a poor reverse recovery time. So when at higher frequencies turns on it may never turn off.

 

As a side note, one end your 2mF cap appears to be connected to the wrong side of the 5 ohm resistor.
