I am in charge of music ,welcome recommend music(I cant find a appropriate word).

 

I don't know a thing about Eastern music. Do you want Western recommendations? What is the mood? Is it formal, casual, young, festive, serious, etc.? Do you want classical European? Whatever you do, don't have Pachelbel's Canon. It is worn out.

Western recommendation is great . The basic tone is serious, but casual&young are also necessery. Red carpet time,the rhythm need to suit to walk,at the same time,who has already enter the hall,need some light background sounds,like some piano melody.this is first part.

 

Describing music is like trying to describe color.

Among classical, my favorite is Mozart, piano concertos #27 (particularly the 2nd and 3rd movements - larghetto and allegro) and #23 with Vladimir Askenazy at piano. I want those two movements for my funeral.

Another really common classical is J.S. Bach, Brandenburg concertos 3,4, &5.

Horowitz did a spectacular Scarlatti in vinyl records. The CD's are OK, but not quite as good. It is not background music. Just listen to any Scarlatti and you will know what I mean.

For mainstream jazz, almost anything by Benny Goodman is good. Monty Alexander has a very good "Echoes of Jilly's" (Frank Sinatra's hangout in New Yourk). Lots of big band jazz options (Miller, Shaw, etc.) and of course many tunes from the 1960's era.

For female jazz, I like Billie Holiday and Lena Horne. Of the two, I like Lena Horne better -- I believe she is from Cleveland. Just listen to her "You're my thrill" and "Good for nothin' Joe" for a taste.

For pure fun and a smile on everyone's face*, get Johnny Costa's "Flying Fingers."

*Edit: BTW, Johnny Costa was the pianist for Mr. Rogers children's TV show in the USA. I don't want you to be embarrassed, but if you like the music, who cares. Another favorite is Eubie Blake's album, "Tricky Fingers," jazz.

Finally, how could I forget. You need to hear Fat's Waller (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fats_Waller). He typifies New Orleans saloon music. All of his tunes start with a similar series of high notes. It is quite characteristic.

Also check out stealhearts CD. He's a friend of mine so I can get you rights to use any of his music. His newstuff is alot more mellow. Guys got an incredible voice. He was marky marks voice in the movie Rockstar.
