Am designing an mppt charger rated 12v 8a with a p channel mosfet (CEU65P03, VGS=-10V, VDS=-30V, IDS=-65A, RDS= 9mOhm) driven in common source mode with a totem pole driver of BC337 and BC327. BUFFER caps 220uF/35V, Freewheeling diode MBR2045, Induc5or 316uH toroid core 8 turns 6 strands.
Issue: SPV side mosfet is working fine but battery side mos is getting excessively heated at over 3.5A current and in few cases it even gets burnt. Totem pole resistance connected to +B is 220ohms. I cant find any reasons of mosfet failing even if inductor is shorted out it gets heated.
Guys please provide your opinions as am your valuable suggestions.
