If It is physical damage like a scrape (not electrical short/spark), you can gently pull them apart to make sure they are not overlapping or physically connected and then coat the damage with epoxy or other good insulator.

Be careful, these nicks in the insulation are live and can shock you. It looks like the transformer was dropped on concrete so there are many smaller nicks besides the big one shown. See green circles below, these MAY be additional nicks. look closely at the real transformer.

The really bad damage should be carefully dressed with a fine needle file to remove the shorts, then as previously advised, coat with epoxy glue. warm the windings with a hair dryer first to remove any moisture and also allow the epoxy to flow. give two coats if required.
