Due their junctions being parallel, and their forward resistance being so low, I am interested in using mosfets in a low lose rectifying circuit. I have seen very little on this so there must be some reason for not doing it. Before I spend my money with the sometimes smoke screen.

 

Just google "mosfet synchronous rectifier" and you will get loads of hits. Read some of them and you will know the pros and cons of using this method.
